“from the eyes of another common nobody, a guide to help you dodge every little terror life sends your way. whether you’re battling depression, anxiety, or any other mental disorder, this guide is for you.”

*I was sent a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from the author. All opinions stated are my own.*

This book was definitely one I felt that I could connect with on a deeper level.

The genres of non-fiction and self-help are ones that I have been trying to get into more and more since I started this blog but I haven’t found one that I could truly connect with until now.

I really enjoyed hearing the author’s perspective on dealing with conditions like depression and anxiety. As someone who has dealt with both of those conditions for years, I could really connect with what the author was trying to say throughout my time reading this book. It made us think about different things that we made not have thought about before. What truly makes us happy? How do we tackle depression? How to take stress out of our lives? Those kinds of things, incorporated with multiple quotes spread throughout the book, made for an interesting read.

I liked how the author was incorporating her own experiences with these conditions while also trying to give us, the readers, tips and tricks on how to deal with them ourselves. I kind of wish she had add more of those experiences into the book to make it a little more relatable.

Overall, this was a very interesting read for me. The only problems I had were, like I mentioned earlier, I wanted more of the author’s own experiences and also, I found quite a few grammatical mistakes throughout the book that could have been fixed. Other than those things, I really liked the book and I’m interested in seeing what the author put out next.
