Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great month of November! Since today is the first day of December I thought it was about time to do an update on how the rest of my first experience with NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) went.

If you do not know what NaNoWriMo is, it is pretty much a month long event during the entire month of November in which you try to write a 50,000 word novel. When I did my last update, I had a total of just under 10,000 words done and I believe 7 chapters written.

So about a week after I last updated, I unfortunately gave up on NaNoWriMo for this year. There was a couple of  factors that played into why I decided to do this. The first being that my work for college picked up a lot in the months of October and November. Most of the work I was doing was research paper that had to be 4 to 5 pages long so that took up a lot of my time. The other factor that played into this was I hit major writer’s block once I got past 12,000. Ideas for where I wanted the story to go never came to me, as much as I tried.

Overall, even though I failed at completing the 50,000 word novel, I did have a lot of fun participating in NaNoWriMo. Since I gave up on a couple of weeks ago, I have come up with more ideas for future stories. I’m hoping to participate again next year and hopefully complete a novel.
